Deat Dr.Mai:
2010 is almost over, and 2011 seems to be already upon the planet we call earth, symbolizing an end as well as a beginning and signifying renewal as well as change! Here I hope that you’v had a successful year in 2010 and may 2011 be an even more blessed and fruitful year for you and yours in the days come.
In spite of the fact that warnings on global warming have been seriously sounded and appeald here and there around the world that the earth on which we are living would become no longer inhabitable if fellow human beings are still abusing the earth badly and continueously, nevertheless, I am truly confident of the Almighty God who is always merciful would still let us continue indhabiting ov it if all mankind could stop abusing it badly.
On account of the fact that my right hand was handicapped long, still failing to do a good  jod of hand writing, nor can I have the skill in operating computer to type chinse characters, I’m obliged to use my old digitalized typewriter to do the job in writing this letter of appreciation.
With great grateflness, I am writing this letter in the hope of extending to you my hearfelt appreciation for your kindness having taken good care of my ophthalmic diseases for more then 10 yesrs. Especially, when I was diagnosed out with the trouble of cataract, I was very much frightened to face this kind of challenge.
However, it was wery kind of you to perform a catarest sur-gery for me. Owing to the fact that you did an excellent job, the said surgery was a highly successful one. As a result, my eyesight recovered greatly since them, and I could read the newspaper soundly again with or ourthout having to wear my glasses. Truly, I wish to let you know how much I’m certain that Far Eastern Medical Center authorities are supposed to have good reasons to be proud of your service and the contribution you have made with enthusiasm, kineness and high professional spirit to all your patients.
Enclosed herewith are a couple of my works[one is a speech “How To Speak English Well” I wrote for teaching material and the other is a piece of oral interpretation I performed for a meeting occasion in 0980 during the period of my college teaching career]. Please accept them as “Christmas souvenir”in token of my gratitude.
I sincerely hope my best wishes and Yuletide greetinge will find you in the best of health and very tops in spirits. May God bless you in the yesrs to come
