感謝耳鼻喉科王棨德醫師及復健科周汝姍語言治療師

Dear  Dr. Chu Shu-Hsun (朱樹勳).
My name is Maurice Harrington.
Up until last week, I was a patient at the Far Eastern Hospital in Ban Chiao.
Almost one year ago, I was diagnosed with a polyp on my
left vocal cord by Dr. Wang (王棨德) in the E.N.T. Department, at your hospital.
He referred me to your speech therapist, Chou Ru-Shan (周汝姍).
I am writing to inform you of how much I appreciate this therapist.
Ms. Chou was very patient with me and surprisingly sensitive to my case.
In fact, I was very surprised when she told me that
I was not using my natural pitch.  I then realized that I had been lowering
my pitch to try to sound more manly.  It amazed me that she was able
to see this.
She showed me how to use my diaphragm instead of my neck muscles,
and she did all this using only English with me, which I am most grateful for,
because I do not speak much Chinese.
Now, Dr. Wang has found that I no longer have that polyp,
and that my vocal cord has completely recovered.
Of course, I am very happy with the speech therapist.
In fact, I enjoyed my therapy very much.
Ms Chou was kind, patient, and sensitive.
I now speak in a very different way than I did before.
And I am so happy that it was not necessary to surgically remove
the polyp from my vocal cord.
Also, I would like to thank Dr. Wang, and all the staff members that
handled my case. Everyone treated me very well.
And finally, of course, I must say a big 'Thank You' to you,
Dr. Chu Shu-Hsun (朱樹勳),
for running that department so well.
