Introduction
The Child Development Center of Far Eastern Memorial Hospital is one of the large professional teams for early intervention service in Taiwan. We provide the developmental evaluations, including developments of gross motor, fine motor, speech and language, cognition, social, emotional and behavioral skills. We also provide pediatric physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language therapy and psychotherapy for children with ASD (autism spectrum disorder), ADHD (attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder), or other developmental disabilities. Understanding the difficulties of upbringing a child with special needs, social workers provide emotional support for parents, evaluate parenting skills, mental conditions and family resources of parents, and organize community and medical resources to meet the family’s needs. Every child with suspicion of developmental delay can complete comprehensive developmental evaluations at our center in one or two days through planned schedule, saving lots of travelling time. The characteristic of our center is our child-centered professional service which relies on the communication in the team and the families.
